Struggle

Penggilingan, Jakarta - Last home sharing, Sarno told me a story. When he was 6 to 12, in Kebumen, Central Java, he had to took five kilometers journey to school with foot. It took one and half hours. Without any village on the way, but forest. But he had never give up. He graduated from elementry school. As a teenager, he moved to Jakarta, to struggle in the capital city of Indonesia. Now, he has a good live in Jakarta. His business as a rice dealer in Pasar Ciracas, East Jakarta, getting bigger. He has more than a tone rice stock in his kiosk. He also a CNI's distributor, and sells couple packs Ginseng Coffee everyday. Seven nights in a week (everynight), he goes for home sharing, and goes home in the midnight. His "salary" (commision) from CNI as an Agency Manager, more than Rp 1,500,000. Last Sunday, he got an Agency Manager's pin, and he was very proud of it. I saw him keep looked to his golden pin. Now, he and his wife are "waiting for" a child. "I want CNI scholarship for my children," said Sarno. From remote village to Megapolitan City Jakarta, Sarno become a success businessman. "I'm only a 'kuli panggul'," he said, humbely. Those are called a struggle.
